We are from God and to Him shall we return
The sad news of the demise of the pious `alim (religious scholar) and committed prominent faqih (jurisprudent) Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Haj Mirza Muhammad-Baqir Ashtiyani- God's peace be upon him- has caused great sorrow. I knew him when we were young. What I learnt from him was taqwa (piety), pure inward disposition, noble morality and preoccupation with science and action. His honorable family was among the pillars of fiqh and shining faces among `ulama' and fuqaha, rendering great services to religious sciences and theological seminaries. May God reward him!
I condole the theological seminaries, prominent `ulama', particularly the noted `ulama' of Tehran- May their blessings last long- and his esteemed family and relatives and implore God Almighty to grant him peace and forgiveness; and his family patience; and the health and the prominent `ulama', happiness and health and power to Islam and resistance and steadfastness to combatants in the cause of God and elevated station and grandeur to martyrs of warfronts and elsewhere and patience and generosity to their families and proud return and courage to those missing in action and the POWs. I hope with the prayer of the Savior( May our souls be sacrificed for him )this Muslim country will be saved from the evil intention of aliens.
